Tips for anxious flyers

If you’ve never flown before or considered yourself an anxious flyer, there are ways to get around it and feel at ease when you fly. Here are a few tips to help your flight experience:

Bring something comforting along -If you’re nervous about flying, it’s always a good idea to bring something you’re familiar with. This could be your favorite jumper, a little trinket or a book. Whatever it is, bring it along and keep hold of it.
Have a few distractions - The best way to stop focusing on your flight worries is distractions. This can be anything from reading, music, listening to podcast or watching a film. You can even try drawing or writing - whatever activity distract you is the one to go for.
Download calming apps - To calm you down on the flight or beforehand, download a calming app. There are plenty around which offer a variety of different techniques to make you feel at ease. Have a browse around and see which one is right for you.
Keep hydrated - Flights can be very dehydrating especially if you’re flying long haul so it’s important to keep hydrated at all times. Bring a water bottle or buy a beverage on the flight and keep drinking. Drinking water will also help clear any headaches and help you feel better physically.
Prepare before you go -If you know all the airport information before you fly, it’ll put you at ease when you actually get there.
